It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to the School of Veterinary Medicine at Dambi Dollo University.
Veterinary medicine plays a vital role in safeguarding animal health, protecting public health, ensuring food safety, and supporting sustainable livestock development. In Ethiopia, where livestock resources significantly contribute to livelihoods and the national economy, the role of veterinary professionals is both strategic and indispensable. Our School is committed to producing competent, ethical, and compassionate veterinarians who are well equipped to address the challenges of animal health, zoonotic diseases, food security, and environmental sustainability.
At the School of Veterinary Medicine, we provide quality education that integrates strong theoretical knowledge with intensive practical training, clinical practice, laboratory work, field attachments, and community-based services. Our curriculum is designed to develop skilled graduates capable of serving in clinical practice, research institutions, public health sectors, regulatory bodies, and the livestock industry.
The School is supported by a dedicated team of qualified academic, clinical, and technical staff who continuously strive to enhance teaching, research, and community engagement. We promote evidence-based practice, problem-solving skills, professionalism, and ethical responsibility. Special emphasis is given to disease prevention and control, One Health approaches, food safety, and sustainable animal production systems.
In alignment with the vision and mission of Dambi Dollo University, the School fosters innovation, critical thinking, and collaboration. We actively engage with government institutions, livestock producers, veterinary clinics, research centers, and the wider community to ensure our programs remain relevant and impactful.
I warmly invite students, staff, partners, and stakeholders to join us in our pursuit of academic excellence and service to society. Together, we can strengthen animal health systems, enhance public health, and contribute to the sustainable development of our nation.
