Dambi Dollo University (DaDU) Signs Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Manufacturing Industry Development Institute (MIDI)
Dambi Dollo University (DaDU) has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Manufacturing Industry Development Institute (MIDI), marking a pivotal advancement in promoting industrial growth and collaboration between academia and industry. The MoU is designed to strengthen partnerships in areas such as research, technology transfer, and skills development, all aimed at improving Ethiopia’s manufacturing landscape. The agreement outlines several key areas of collaboration, including:
- Research and technological transfer
- Community service projects
- training and students’ internship
- Development of expertise in material sciences, chemical and mechanical engineering industrial research projects and etc.
At the signing ceremony, Miressa Amenu (Asst.prof), Director of Public and International Relations at DaDU, emphasized the university's commitment to producing industry-ready graduates and contributing to the nation's development, underscoring the need for this Memorandum of Understanding to be implemented effectively.
Professor Dr. Krishnaraj also mentioned that this partnership will help close the gap between academic education and the manufacturing sector, providing our students with hands-on skills that support the country's economic growth.
MIDI representatives highlighted the importance of these partnerships in promoting Ethiopia's industrialization initiatives. Milkessa Jagema(PhD), the director general, stated that working with organizations such as DaDU enables us to utilize local talent and innovation, thereby improving productivity and competitiveness in the manufacturing industry.
This partnership marks a milestone in DaDU’s efforts to align its academic programs with industry needs, reinforcing its role as a key player in Ethiopia’s socio-economic development.
