Majority of academic programs in our university entertain undergraduate enrollment in different modalities. Is there a particular aspect of undergraduate admissions you’re curious about? Admission to Regular Undergraduate
Admission with a cost sharing scheme /Gov’t sponsored for undergraduate regular programs are handled through Federal Ministry of Education for students qualified to join Ethiopian higher education learning based on the students’ result score in Ethiopian Higher Education Entrance Certificate Examination (EHEECE).
The students who are assigned to the university in this modality will be enrolled as freshman students to three streams (social science stream, Natural and computational science stream and engineering stream) for one year freshman course. After completing one year of freshman course successfully, the university conducts placement for students to different programs based on the exam score results the students earned during their freshman courses.
Admission to Paid-Regular Undergraduate (Private)
Students who are legible to join regular undergraduate program under normal circumstances and those who are willing to cover their own educational fees in to attend program of their choice will be given an opportunity to enroll as regular private students.
To be qualified for this opportunity, students shall fulfill all eligibility criteria required for regular admission and have the willingness and capacity to cover over all educational fees and living costs by their own self sponsorship modality.
In addition to these, students who are willing to join our university with such modality should have to submit their application for admission within a given period of time based on the university’s academic schedules as notified by the registrar office.
Admission to Continuous education (Extension and Distance Undergraduate Admissions)
To be considered for a Distance Learning Undergraduate Program, an applicant who has successfully completed preparatory high school typically needs to meet several criteria. These often include:
High School Diploma: Proof of successful completion of preparatory high school.
Entrance Exam Scores: Submission of scores from relevant entrance exams, such as the Ethiopian Higher Education Entrance Examination (EHEEE). Universities may have specific policies on how many years back they will accept these scores
Fulfill the minimum cut-off point score for EHEEE set by the Ministry of Education for eligibility to join a tertiary education institution
Provide the original and copy of the EHEEE (12th grade) score card
Provide original and copy of ESLCE (10th grade) score card
Provide transcript for preparatory high school
Thoroughly complete the application form
Avail proof of payment of the required services’ fee
Former ESLCE exam results may not be considered for admission
Advanced Admission
To pursue an advanced degree after completing a Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) program and obtaining a Certificate of Competency (CoC), you generally need to meet the following eligibility criteria:
Official Transcript: Provide an official transcript from the institution where you obtained your diploma.
Diploma and CoC: Present both the original and copies of your diploma and Certificate of Competency (CoC).
EHEEE Score Card/Certificate: Show the original and submit a copy of your Ethiopian Higher Education Entrance Examination (EHEEE) score card.
Work Experience: Provide documentation proving at least one year of relevant work experience after obtaining your diploma.
Application Form: Complete the application form accurately.
Proof of Payment: Show proof of payment for the required application fee.
