Duties and Responsibilities

1. Collaboration and Partnership:- Improve, facilitate, and encourage collaboration and coordination among various sectors, including human health, animal health, and environmental health

2. Establish partnerships and collaborations with external entities such as government agencies, academic institutions, NGOs, and international organizations.

3. Research and Innovation:- Identification of One Health research gaps.

4. Encourage collaborative research initiatives that engage experts from various disciplines for promoting a comprehensive comprehension of health issues and fostering the development of innovative solutions.

5. Develop grant proposals and submission of research proposals to relevant funding bodies.

6. Community Outreach,  Capacity Building and Training:-Organize training programs and workshops for professionals in public health, veterinary medicine, and environmental science

7. Strengthen local capacities to implement One Health principles

8. Promote awareness campaigns to educate communities on One Health principles.

9. Promote responsible antimicrobial use in both human and veterinary medicine and the effects of antimicrobial resistance

10. Effectively address the specific health challenges of local communities.

11. Student Engagement:-Actively involve students in One Health initiatives through the establishment of a student One Health club, offering research opportunities, internships, and extracurricular activities.

12. Surveillance and Monitoring:-Develop and implement integrated surveillance systems for tracking diseases affecting humans, animals, and ecosystems.

13. Monitor and respond to emerging and re-emerging zoonotic diseases.

14.  Emergency Preparedness and Response:-Lead efforts to develop and implement multi-sectoral response plans for health emergencies.

15. Support disaster risk reduction strategies that integrate human, animal, and environmental health consideration.

16. Policy development and Advocacy:-Participation in public health discussions, providing guidance to policymakers, and advocating for responsible practices
